Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8
Cornerstone Church believes wholeheartedly in the power of prayer and maintains full network of "prayer warriors" who pray daily for the needs communicated to them. If you have prayer needs, please either call the church office at 562.296.6490, or click here to enter a Prayer Request online.
Prayer is not a passive act of pious or transcendental tripping. Prayer is an intensely practical faith experience whereby we enter God's presence (Hebrews 12:1,2). True prayer is also an act of great humility whereby we acknowledge our total dependence upon God. Above all, prayer is a means of serious spiritual warfare, and the earnest prayers of a righteous person are powerful and effective (James 5:16b). As Samuel Chadwick noted, 'Satan dreads nothing but prayer. His one concern is to keep the saints from praying. He fears nothing from our prayerless studies, prayerless work, prayerless religion. He laughs at our toil, mocks our wisdom, but trembles when we pray.' Satan knows the power of prayer because he knows the power and plan of God - that is why he trembles.
