You are not alone
If you have ever been diagnosed with cancer, whether recently or in the past, you know the feeling that life has changed forever. From the moment of that diagnosis, you are a survivor – and you are not alone.
Because of God’s goodness and grace in our lives, no matter where we are in our journey, the goal of Cornerstone's Cancer Survivors Support Group is to help, support and encourage one another – through the treatment process and beyond.
Spouses and caregivers are also survivors in any cancer diagnosis – and therefore are invited and encouraged to participate in the group to support one another as they support the patient.
This group is a positive, upbeat, safe place to:
- exchange information
- share experiences and feelings
- encourage one another
- find hope for the future through our relationships with our Lord and one another
Meetings take place at the church ~ 6:00pm the first Sunday of every month.
Peggy & Nancy's Project: In memory of Peggy Nielsen, a handcraft group was formed to continue her gift of love and service to the ill and homeless. Meeting at 2 PM on Thursday afternoons at the church for instruction and fellowship, the group was provided instruction and yarn by Nancy Long, herself a cancer survivor. Now, in her memory as well, the group continues to meet to continue their passion for outreach. Anyone who enjoys knitting or crocheting and would like to participate is invited to join in; no experience with handcrafting or cancer is required!
