College Ministry

The following serves as the backbone to why we do what we do here in youth ministry at Cornerstone Church.   All of our programming pieces will serve to accomplish one of our five values.  Everything we say and do has specific purpose and intent.
Maturity:   Rooted vME (sq. root of ME)
We desire students to continually grow and mature in their personal relationship with Christ.  We want them to be rooted in the scriptures and develop a biblically based worldview.
James 1:22-25, Hebrew 5:13-14, Isaiah 26:8, Psalms 119:9-11
Identity: Beloved…it’s my identity!  I = Beloved
We desire students to understand that they are Christ beloved.  This happens when student understand that they are His children, future heirs to His kingdom, and part of a royal priesthood.  This identity should serve as the foundation of who they are.
1 Peter 2:9, Romans 8:16-17, 37-39, 2 Corinthians 1:22, Zephaniah 3:17
Community: Intentional Unity… I’m counted on!  WE/I
We desire to see that they are part of a community, understanding that their relationship to Christ begins with a personal decision to follow Him, but is lived out and expressed in the context of community.   They understand that they are important to the body of Christ and can only operate at their best when they are actively involved in the life of the body.  They know that they are counted on.
John13:34-35, Philippians 2:1-10, Ephesians 4:1-6, 1 John 4:7-12
Mission: They > I We desire students to understand that as a follower of Christ they are called to be a servant.  We want them to actively seek ways to serve others and by serving them they are placing Christ before themselves.  They serve with the purpose and intent of sharing Jesus Christ and his love and grace.   They serve our group, church, community, and world.   This happens when students decide to put their faith into action.
1 John 3:16-18, Matthew 25:34-40, James 1:27, 2:14-17
Ownership: HE > I
We desire for students to understand that the life they have been given is not about them, it is about Christ.  They own their faith and choose to live with a lifestyle that is based in scripture and purposed in glorifying Christ.  They take ownership of their faith and become self existing and reproducing disciples of Jesus.
1 John 3:30, Micah 6:8, Romans 12:9-21, Psalm 51:10-17

Wellspring is a group for college-aged young adults that meets on Sunday nights for worship, dinner, and fellowship. We are a community of Christ-followers dedicated to living life for Christ, together. We want to exalt the Name of Christ on our campuses, in our cities, in our nation and around the world. We also offer Life Groups throughout the week and have monthly activities for building community and reaching out to those who may not believe
