In Ecclesiastes, Solomon intentionally looks at life “under the sun” without God. Solomon, the wise preacher, sees life without God as a depressing grand delusion. He starts the book with his conclusion, a shocking but realistic statement about everything: “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity.” What follows is an extensive review of Solomon’s observations, preconceptions and conclusions about life.
