Dr. Jerry Rueb is the Lead Pastor of Cornerstone Church, Long Beach.

God has blessed Jerry’s visionary leadership, biblical preaching, energetic shepherding and the trusted reputation to successfully lead churches in Littleton, Colorado, Santa Cruz, California, Vancouver, Canada and Long Beach, California. As the founding pastor of Cornerstone Church, Jerry began with eight couples in a spiritually-resistant area near one of the largest college campuses in America. Within ten years the congregation grew and quickly became known for its commitment to world missions and creatively ministering to the local community. Jerry is a persuasive preacher who speaks honestly and powerfully from God’s Word each weekend.

As an author, conference speaker, college lecturer, church growth consultant, world mission advocate and educator, Jerry’s leadership gifts have been recognized and applied in places like Biola University where he is a trustee, the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada’s International Mission Task Force, Missions Fest, Regent College Canada, trustee, lecturer, Capernwray Bible School, and African Bible College in Uganda. Jerry is married to Sue, a professional educator, author and President of Brain Rehabilitation And Injury Network (www.thebrainsite.org), a national non-profit organization to provide research, recovery and residual care to brain injured adults.

Jerry and Sue are parents of three grown children and they reside in Huntington Beach, California where Jerry enjoys cycling, golf and beach sports. Jerry’s passions are to love the Lord Jesus Christ, to serve God by equipping believers, to persuade believers to answer God’s unique call on their lives and to prepare his church to declare the good news of the gospel to the entire world.

Duane Den Boer grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. At the age of six he trusted in Christ and was baptized at the age of seven. He received a call to the ministry at age eleven and responded by attending Word of Life Bible Institute his first year out of high school.

After graduating from there he joined the US Army as a Cavalry Reconnaissance Scout and they sent him away to Korea. While in Korea Duane met his wife Joy who was teaching first grade at a missionary school near his post. They spent over two years in Korea together before coming back to the USA and getting married here in California, and then settling down in Michigan.

While in Michigan, Duane received his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Cornerstone University. During this time he served as a youth pastor at a small church in that area and worked several other jobs to get by.

In 2000, Joy and Duane had their first of four daughters and moved to California so Duane could attend Talbot School of Theology. He was ordained to the pastoral ministry in 2005 and graduated from Talbot with his Master of Divinity in 2009. While serving in California over the last eighteen years, half of that time has been ministering cross-culturally in Asian churches. They came to Cornerstone Church in December of 2015 and have been enjoying their new church family immensely.

DEBBI ANDREWS
MINISTER TO CHILDREN

(562) 296-6490
kids@cclb.org

Debbi considers her entrance into Children’s Ministry a “fisherman right out of the boat” calling. Looking back, she sees God’s hand, step-by-step leading her into where she is today.

In December of 2003, “Mrs. A.” agreed to volunteer to lead Cornerstone’s first Vacation Bible School (’04), and things grew from there. With her love of kids and beginning programs from scratch, God has provided many opportunities for her within Cornerstone’s Children's Ministries, birth through 5th grade. In January of 2006, Debbi joined the CC staff, part-time and by July 2008, the full-time ministry life was what she considered her Divine appointment.

“To realize that God is using me in a place that has eternal value is mind-blowing. I love sitting on the front row, watching Him orchestrate things that only He can do to fulfill His purposes as He draws children, and others, to Him. The way the Lord has brought so many volunteer teams together, whether in the Nursery, Kids Church, AWANA, VBS or any of the other ministries within Kids, has been nothing short of miraculous, in my eyes. I pray I stay with open hands, walking in faith, ready to do His will in this HIS ministry.”

On the personal side, Debbi has been married to her teammate in ministry, Mark, since 1983. They have two sons, both married and each having 2 children. When not at church, Debbi loves going on dates with her hubby, babysitting the grandkids & being with family, using her annual passport at Disneyland, enjoying God’s handiwork in nature and still getting to do calligraphy & tennis every so often.
